Why did you go into Personal Training?
I have a passion for coaching and fitness, so I thought this was my opportunity to do what I love for a living. In the past I had my own personal trainer and realized how much they impacted my life for the better. From that experience I learned what was best for me in order to hit my goals. My experience as a personal training client gave me the insight I needed and is the reason why I wanted to become a trainer.

I undertook a project to have singular experiences in every National Park. This required preparing to ski, paddle, backpack, bicycle, snorkel, rock-hop, glacier-hike, ride horseback, and more. Prior to each adventure, Anthony gave me new exercises designed to tune my body for the challenge facing me. At my initial meeting with Anthony, he asked lots of questions about what activities I like to do and what my goals were. He tailored my routine to strengthen the muscles I would be using as well as work on balance. I was having bursitis pain in my hip as well as neck pain from kayaking. Anthony showed and explained exercises and stretches that would help the particular muscles that were causing the pain. Within the week, my hip pain had just about subsided, and my neck pain had greatly improved. We continued to work on those areas for another session. Anthony explained the reasoning behind specific stretches and strength training exercises. The pain in my hip is completely gone now, and my neck is almost back to normal.

I believe Anthony is an extremely competent trainer who takes the time to ask questions and teach his clients what they need to know to have success at working out.

His sense of humor and light-hearted approach to exercising makes training sessions very enjoyable.

I’ve been working with Anthony for about 10 months now. He helped establish both short and long-term goals for me, which have significantly increased my range of motion and overall fitness while keeping the workouts fresh and fun.

When my physical therapists determined I had reached my maximum range of motion (ROM), Anthony developed custom, targeted, and dynamically evolving workout routines that have taken my ROM to levels considered “unachievable” by the therapists. I am very happy with the result so far and will continue to use his services to take my fitness to the next level.

I’ve been Personal Training at the Center for four years but have only been with Anthony for about a month. Starting out with someone new can be challenging, but we connected immediately! He is extremely personable, obviously loves what he does, and genuinely seems excited to have our sessions together. I think we have a great partnership, and that makes my workouts more effective and enjoyable. Anthony was diligent in learning about my fitness history and any physical issues I had in order to forge our plan forward. He puts thought into each session and comes up with a plan, but he is flexible and can easily switch gears if needed due to equipment availability or personal needs. As a senior client, my fitness goals are simple – to age well, avoid injury and enjoy my workouts and Anthony has a long-term plan to ensure those goals continue to be met. I have trained with Anthony on and off – mostly on – since I restarted with the Center after COVID. When I was assigned to Anthony, I was somewhat skeptical – I am an “old man” with several injuries (back and knees) that have since undergone surgery, and Anthony was a young trainer, apparently somewhat new to the Center. That initial reaction has been proven totally wrong.

Anthony is very personable and, as far as I can tell, very knowledgeable. It is clear he cares for his clients and completes research and classes on his own time to learn more about helping them. Anthony has dealt with my infirmities, first helping improve my fitness and then adapting his approach to accommodate my back and knee surgeries. He has willingly adapted his training to include part-time in the pool, clearly working with others to learn more about the possibilities with that approach.

I have been very impressed with Anthony. In addition to being knowledgeable in the training area, he is very personable. This has made training with Anthony interesting and fun as well as functionally successful. I look forward to training with Anthony and would be very disappointed if it ever comes to some point where that might be no longer possible.

Anthony worked with me before my total right knee replacement. He helped to stretch and prepare for the surgery. After the surgery, he also was part of my physical therapy to get full use out of my new joint. Anthony is very caring and concerned for my health and comfort. Anthony really helped me out when I was coming off several long-term injuries and trying to get back into fitness. I was really nervous about reaggravating an injury but had the all-clear from the doctor and PT to get back to work. Anthony has been a key part of my overall health journey!
